Our Resident - Certified Master Chef Leopold
We are lucky to have employees who go above and beyond to not only support our residents but to get to know them by listening to their stories and learning about their interests. Taken one step further, they internalize residents’ passions and find ways to create magical experiences out of them.
Leopold K. Schaeli, a resident of Independence Village of White Lake, is a Certified Master Chef (CMC), a designation presented by the American Culinary Federation and the highest level of certification a chef can receive. Knowing this about Leopold, Chef Dan learned of an event at Schoolcraft College designed for young aspiring chefs to meet Master Chefs and coordinated for him to be there.
The Life Enrichment Director arranged for Leopold to ride in a limo with our chefs to this event. Being that Leopold was the second person ever to become a Certified Master Chef, he was the life of the party and had a blast.
When we know our residents well, we are willing to go out of our way to consider their passions and cater their experiences to their interests. In doing this, we can show the type of “family” we are.
